MOTORWAYS AND EXPRESS ROADS IN POLAND
The Report of the Ministry of Infrastructure published on 8 November this year (as at 28.10.2011r.) shows that 1380 of national roads are currently under construction or modification. The works on the construction of new routes mainly refer to:
motorways (643 km),
express roads (631 km)
by-passes (86 km).
In total 29 motorway sections, 43 express roads sections and 12 by-passes on national roads are under construction.
Since 16 November 2007 1440,7 km were opened to traffic, including motorways (298.6km), express roads (442.6 km), by-passes (152,9 km) and modified roads (546,6km).

A1 Bełk – Świerklany (Bełk – Rowień section (7,5 km)(opened on 15.12.2010) (Rowień- Świerklany section (6,6 km) opened on 22.04.2011) (14,1 km)
A1 węzeł Sośnica at the crossing of A1 and A4 motorways (2,2 km)
A2 Motorway by-pass of Stryków (Stryków I – Stryków II interchange with the connection to the national road no 14, totalling 4.6 km) (1,7 km)
A4 Zgorzelec – Wykroty (22 km)
A4 Wykroty – Krzyżowa (29,4 km)
A4 Kraków – Szarów (19,9 km)
A8 connection of Kobierzyce to Lotnisko interchange (Kobierzyce - to A4 (7 km) opened on 30.12.2010 r.) (A4 – Lotnisko interchange (7,4 km) opened on 5.05.2011) (14.4 km)

From 16 November 2007 until 5 October 2011 agreements were concluded for 1950,7 km of motorways, express roads and by-passes. 36 projects for motorway construction (totalling 783,6 km) were performed in the traditional system (615.3 km), and in the Public-Private Partnership system (168,3 km). The agreements concluded for express roads, by-passes and major road modifications concerned 97 projects, totalling 1167.1 km.
