Assumptions and objectives of the course: to introduce basic psychological knowledge concerning psychical processes and mechanisms; to develop psychological and social skills and abilities, which are indispensable in teacher’s work

Content:

basic psychological processes; learning and memory, attention, thinking, creativity; emotions, motivation; stress and coping with stress; the concept of personality, the concept of “healthy personality”; the development of the individual, stages of the development, the theory of Piaget; the process of socialization and its mechanisms; social influence; understanding of people; communication of peoples; conflict and the ways of its solving; problem of aggression in the interpersonal relation and methods of coping; the individual in the group, groups in school, group management, investigation of social structure of the school class.

to learn the developmental specificity of the adolescence and educational problems of grammar school pupils in order that one may become a successful teacher

Content:

Characteristics of adolescence and early youth, basic problems; emotional problems of pupils, anxiety, neurosis, depression: symptoms, elementary psychological knowledge and helping behaviour; addictions among pupils, the types of addiction,. the ways of helping, prevention of addictions in school; attitudes towards school and learning, negative attitudes and motivation towards school and learning; some problems of talented pupils, how to work with a gifted pupils?; Building up the authority, the types of authority among teachers; developing psychological and social skills of pupils; how to prepare pupils for the challenges of the modern world?

Theoretical basement of nature education. The role of nature and geography in polish system of education. Curriculum for polish schools – official document of ministry of Education Aims, topics and achievements by curriculum in a programme of nature in primary school and a programme of geography in secondary school. Criteria of choosing nature programmes and geography programmes. General aims and detailed aims. Method of teaching. Topics of teaching. Construction and types of lessons. Synopsis of the lecture. Developing of notions and abilities in nature and geography teaching. Fieldwork i nature and geography. Didactical means. Function and structure of a schoolbook. The functions of illustrations. Content:

Problems and categories of philosophy of nature. Ancient and medieval philosophy of nature (presocratic philosophy of nature and its later development), main problems of the modern philosophy of nature (mechanistic tradition, the problem of casuality). Positivistic and neopositivistic tradition in understanding nature and science, determinism in the traditional and recent philosophy of nature. The main problems of the modern philosophy of science, the transformation of the rationality of science in the perspective of postmodern future (the world as a system and as „chaos”). Philosophy of nature and problems of the modern eco-philosophy. Correlation between changes in understanding of the world and understanding of science.
