The scope of material concern the teaching course of nature and biology at primary school and high school.



Assumptions and objectives of the course:

Deepening the knowledge of the contents in the teaching of biological nature. Ability to integrate knowledge of biology with other fields of knowledge block "Nature". Ability to practical application of teaching and the experiences and experiments of nature.

Content:

Lectures:. Differentiation of living environments. The diversity of plants and animals and their adaptation to different environments. Biocenotic and economic importance of selected groups of plants and animals. Principles of ecology (ecosystem functioning, the cycle of matter and energy, the limiting factors). The basis problems of conservation (conservation objectives, contemporary trends and ways of protection). Possibilities of field lesson for the teaching of biology in the block elements of "Nature".

Exercises: The examples of simple experiments and natural experiments (including exercises using a microscope and magnifying glass). Practical use of keys for the determination of plants and animals. Possibility of obtaining in the field of teaching and their use in the education course.

Content:

Homogenous and heterogenous mixtures. Different methods of separating mixtures. Solutions and solubility. Crystallization and properties of crystals. Chemical composition of the air. The physical and chemical properties of gases. Processes of oxidation and combustion. Metals and non-metals. The physical and chemical properties of metals. Determining the specific gravity of metals and other substances. Acids and bases. The pH scale and pH of solutions. Pollution of air and water. Chemical additions to food (colorants, conservers, stabilizers, emulsifiers). Analysis of different food products for „E” additives. Determination of starch and proteins in food.

Content:

Field workshops in Podstawa programowa przyrody oraz geografii w gimnazjum. Techniques and forms of teaching of geographical contents during field workshops: direct observation, explaining and qualifying description, measuring, methods of roles, poster, expression and impression methods. The selected contents of field workshops: orientation skills in terrain, observations and descriptions of landscape of the nearest neighbourhood, identification of rocks and landforms, interpretation of the relief development on the example of karst and scarp relief, analysis of landscape evolution on the example of urban and quasi-natural landscapes in legally protected areas, evaluation of threats to the natural environment from the side of growing anthropopression, meteorological, cartographical and astronomical observations and measurements.
