Unexpectedly, just before the First Communion of his son, Michael is sent by an employer to his home town. He goes reluctantly, hoping it is for a short time, until the business is done. His plans of a quick return are however thwarted on the spot.
There, on place, walking around the city, he meets people who used to be close to him, sees familiar places, and cannot avoid remembrances – the banal trip turns into an emotional journey towards life that he thought is far behind.
